Baked with sweet Hawaiian rolls, marinara, and lots of gooey cheese!
If you have a house full of hungry kids and a schedule that never seems to slow down, dinner can feel like a daily marathon. But these little baked chicken sandwiches? They are about to change everything. They’re warm, cheesy, saucy, flavorful, and somehow feel fun and special—even though they’re made with common ingredients that are fast to slap together.

Simply stock up on your favorite brand of frozen chicken nuggets (or tenders) for this super easy and kid-friendly meal. They’re great for a quick dinner, hot lunch, or even after school snack!

Ingredients Needed
- 12 pack Hawaiian Rolls
- 12 large chicken nuggets or tenders
- 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce
- 6 slices mozzarella
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp grated parmesan (optional)

Quick Instructions
- Bake the chicken nuggets according to the package instructions.
- Preheat oven to 350° F and butter the bottom of a large baking dish.
- Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally leaving the individual rolls attached, and place the bottom half into the oven to cook for about 3 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and top each bun with a cooked nugget followed by the sauce.
- Lay the sliced mozzarella over top.
- Place the top side of the rolls over the cheese and brush a combination of melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Sprinkle parmesan cheese over top and cover the dish with foil.
- Bake for about 15 minutes and then remove the foil and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes.
In less than 20 minutes, you’ve got golden, pull-apart sliders that will look like you spent way more effort than you actually did! And yes, they taste like absolute heaven when it comes to comfort food.

Baked Chicken Nugget Sliders With Hawaiian Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 (12 pack) Hawaiian Rolls
- 12 large chicken nuggets (or tenders)
- 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce
- 6 slices mozzarella cheese (or use shredded)
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp grated parmesan (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the chicken nuggets according to the package instructions.
- Set the oven to 350° F and butter the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.
- Using a large serrated knife, cut the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally leaving the individual rolls attached, and place the bottom half into your prepared dish. Pop it in the oven to cook for about 3 minutes to get a little toasty.
- Remove from the oven and top each bun with a cooked nugget followed by the sauce.
- Lay the sliced mozzarella over top and then cover with the top half of your buns.
- Combine the melted butter with the seasonings and brush a generous amount over the top of the uncooked sandwiches.
- Sprinkle grated parmesan over top and then COVER the dish with FOIL.
- Cook for 15 minutes and then remove the foil and continue cooking for 3-5 more minutes.
- Allow them to cool for a few minutes and then simply pull them apart and enjoy! You're going to love that cheese pull. 🙂
