OK, imagine it’s Sunday morning and all you want is some yummy breakfast from Chick-fil-A. But, it’s Sunday so your craving goes unsatisfied. What a let down, right? Well, what if you can make chicken minis at home with just 4 ingredients that taste EXACTLY like the authentic Chick-fil-A recipe? Whoo-hoo! This recipe is so stinking easy you’ll wonder why you’ve never made it before.
Homemade Chicken Minis are the perfect quick and easy breakfast for kids, adults, and everyone in between. These sweet mini sandwiches are irresistible! In just 30 minutes, you can make this copycat Chick-fil-A recipe in your oven with no frying, no batter, and almost no effort.
Ingredients For Homemade Chicken Minis
- 1 package Sister Schubert’s Parker House Rolls
- 1 bag Southern Style Chicken Nuggets (16 nuggets)
- 3 tbsp Honey
- 3 tbsp Melted Butter
Step 1 Unwrap the frozen dinner rolls and lightly cover with aluminum foil. Bake at 300° F for half of the baking time, about 15 minutes.
Step 2 While the rolls are cooking, place the chicken nuggets onto a baking sheet. After the rolls have been baking for the first 15 minutes, add the nuggets to oven and bake both nuggets and rolls for an additional 15 minutes (make sure to flip the nuggets half way through).
Step 3 Make the honey butter while the rolls and nuggets are cooking. Simply mix 3 tablespoons of melted butter with about 3 tablespoons of honey. Feel free to add more honey to your taste!
Step 4 When the rolls and nuggets are completely cooked, remove from oven. Gently open each warm roll leaving one side of the roll still attached, and then nestle a chicken nugget inside of each one.
Step 5 Brush the chicken minis with a generous amount of honey butter. Serve warm and enjoy! My kids can’t get enough of these mini sandwiches. You may need to set a few aside for yourself before they eat them all.
Helpful Tips
- Can you air fry the chicken nuggets instead of baking them? Yes of course! Air fry at 300 degrees for 10 minutes or until they are warm.
- Can you use store bought honey butter? Absolutely! That would make this recipe even easier. Just warm the honey butter in the microwave for about 10 seconds before using to make it easier to spread.
- How can I stop myself from eating the whole batch of chicken minis? Well, unfortunately you cant. 😜 These little sweet and savory breakfast items are just too good!
