Are you looking for quick and easy ground beef dinner recipes for your picky family? These cheeseburger biscuits are the ultimate comfort food! They're also really simple to make with just a handful of cheap ingredients.
seasoning to taste(I use Montreal Steak seasoning)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350° F and grease a glass or ceramic baking dish (I used a 7x9 dish but a 9x11 works as well).
Separate the biscuits in half and line the bottom halves into your dish; set the top halves aside for later. Bake for about 5 minutes, just enough time to give them a head start in the baking process so they aren't soggy.
While the bottom half of your biscuits are baking, sauté the onion in a medium size pan over medium heat with a little bit of oil for about 5 minutes. Once the onions are cooked to your liking, add the ground beef; chop and thoroughly brown. Drain any excess grease from the pan.
Season the beef mixture with salt, pepper, garlic powder, or anything else you'd like. I use Montreal Steak seasoning for everything!
Pull the biscuits out of the oven and evenly spread your ground beef mixture over top. Sprinkle the cheese over the ground beef, and then place the other half of your uncooked biscuits directly on top.
Place the dish back in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops of the biscuits are golden brown.
Serve alone or with your favorite cheeseburger condiments and toppings!
Notes
I tried this recipe with the Pillsbury Grands Flaky Layers (shown in the picture), but I'd recommend the regular homestyle biscuits. It turned out great, but the flaky layers were hard to pull apart into equal sizes!
